Since 2001 folks have enjoyed Andy’s Hammered Dulcimer music. Concentrating mostly on writing him own music Andy also plays some Traditional Irish, Scottish and American tunes. He is self taught in playing the Hammered Dulcimer and has written many lovely tunes that he refers to as “Adirondack Classical Music”. Toe-tapping tunes such as “Zac-A-Doo” and “Audrie, You make me smile” or soft relaxing songs like “Forest Cathedral” and “Dancing by the Marsh” resonate with a quality that only a Hammered Dulcimer can project. The tunes “Together by the Lake” and “Crocus, A new beginning” have become standards for several wedding ceremonies. Over the years Andy has become a regular at “The Coffee Planet” in Ballston Spa,NY and the “Lake George Talent Show”. He also provides an evening of music at the West Mount Health Care Facility in Warren County several times a year. Andy also has performed at special events such as the Lake George Library’s 100th Birthday Celebration and the Lake George Historical Association’s Annual Holiday Festival. The “Fabulous Folk Festival” in Bolton Landing is a venue where Andy has also performed. In November 2005 Andy recorded a CD live and uncut and it is available at The Lake George Historical Association in Lake George, NY , the Maren Dunn Bookstore in Warrensburg, NY or by contacting Andy (via e-mail) for ordering information. Playing the Hammered Dulcimer has become a real passion for Andy and he enjoys sharing his music with folks. He has played for a variety of venues but most enjoys “giving of his talent” to non-profit organizations. Andy explains, “ I’ve been most fortunate through out my life and just want to give something back to our community, sharing is what it’s all about”. Please contact Andy if you have a special event and you would like a unique style pf music. The wonderful tones that only a Hammered Dulcimer can produce will enhance any event. |
